Música e Cor

It is common to hear people say they see life in black and white, or in color. This is a way of expressing how we view and handle life, but it is also a way of understanding who we are—or our state of being—at a particular time in our lives. The fact is, we see the world according to who we are; the lenses through which we view life share the color of our soul. In other words, we see the world in the same colors that exist within us. This means that if life feels dull, colorless, or entirely black and white, it is a sign that something within us is amiss. For some people, life is always this way: devoid of color. Everything is black and white—or sometimes gray. There is no joy, no flowers, no color. This reflects the person's internal state at that moment. Yet, we all carry colors within us and have the capacity to add color to our lives. The most important thing to realize is that the process begins from the inside out. We will only see color in life if color exists within us. This is because the external world is merely a reflection of who we are. We constantly project our inner selves, emitting vibrations into the universe; the universe, in turn, sends back only what resonates—that is, what is in tune with our own vibrations. We are like a radio that plays only the music corresponding to the frequency we have tuned into. Life works the same way: we hear only the music we choose to play. Of course, this does not happen consciously; otherwise, we would only listen to beautiful music and view life in the most magnificent colors. The reality is that we are not always—or hardly ever—aware of what is happening inside us. Consequently, our thoughts and feelings emit random signals that are not always in harmony with one another or with our true essence. We face interference from both within ourselves and the outside world, and the less aware we are of what we are projecting, the less aware we become of the other factors influencing us. It is also pointless to keep trying to tune into stations that don't belong to us just because we think they might be interesting. We need to discover our own radio, our own station, and our own music. We need to look within and discover what music we want for our lives and what we must do to make it play. Self-knowledge is essential for this, as only when we understand ourselves better can we consciously and positively change our lives. Discovering the colors within our souls is another possible path. We must look inside and find out which colors are most vibrant in our personalities—which ones truly resonate with our souls. With this, we can color our lives, painting everything in the hues we wish to see and live with. However, two things are important. First, the colors must truly be in tune with our souls; in fact, they need to be the colors *of* the soul. Second, we can all color our lives whenever we wish—it simply takes the desire to do so. If the process cannot happen from the inside out, buy a box of colored pencils and let your imagination soar. Draw, paint, and fill everything with color. Show your soul that these colors exist within you. By doing this, you can color your life with whatever shades you desire. The most beautiful part of this process is that when we know the colors within us and the music we wish to hear, life becomes more beautiful and everything flows much better.
